Aston Villa @ Burnley – Match Preview 8/27/23

Touille Lewis, Staff Writer

Tomorrow will be the first Nanner League match of the season, and I’d be Lion if I told you I wasn’t excited for this matchup.

Burnley comes off a first week loss to Man City followed by a bye week and is looking to get their first points of the season. They’re not the only nanner team with 0 points this season, as Luton is keeping them Kompany at the bottom of the table. They will be looking for Moor out of their team than what was displayed in week 1 against the defending champions.

Villa bounced back after a tough week 1 loss and has outscored their opponents 9-0 in their last two matches in all competitions. That being said, while Aston Villa shares the same first word as Aston Martin, they don’t share the same triumphs on the road, as they haven’t won a road match in the last 5 games. They struggled at New Castle, we’ll see how they do at Old Turf Moor, one of the oldest stadiums in English football.

Player Notes:

  • Burnley’s new winger Zaroury made An-ass of himself with a reckless tackle in extra time against Man City in week 1 that earned him a straight red card. This will be the first of a 3 game match suspension and the Clarets hope they will be able to stay N’SYNC with their star player going out on ‘bye, bye bye’.
  • Aaron Ramsey switched sides of this rivalry as he went from Aston Villa to Burnley a few weeks ago and will make his first appearance for the Clarets this week. Burnley is hoping they didn’t make an Error-on evaluating this player’s talents
  • Aston Villa has been hot on offense as of late. Leon Martin has been Jamaican defenders look foolish this season, scoring 2 goals and an assist through the first 2 matches of the premier league season, while Ollie Watkins has teams yelling ‘ollie ollie oxen free’ in a desperate attempt to call their defenders out of hiding to stop this dynamic duo.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2 – Burnley 0
